“When the mo­vie star­ted, I im­me­dia­te­ly thought two things. First, that Tho­mas Ha­den Church has the best voice for nar­ra­tion of any ac­tor of his ge­ne­ra­tion. And se­cond, the sound de­si­gn in this mo­vie is ama­zing. Blen­ding subtle, na­tu­ra­lis­tic film ma­king and a sty­li­zed sound de­si­gn which makes eve­ry mo­ve­ment heard seem more dra­ma­tic, the film im­me­dia­te­ly creates an al­most un­com­for­table in­ti­ma­cy bet­ween the au­dience and Bruce, like we’re ac­com­plices of his crimes. But it al­so helps to break the ice, ex­cuse the pun, and al­low us to laugh im­me­dia­te­ly at the ve­ry dark hu­mor being thrown at us.”

« Oli­vier s’est im­po­sé à moi pour Nuages sur la ville. Il m’a été sug­gé­ré par Mar­cel jean et pos­sède les atouts pour ef­fec­tuer ce tra­vail. Il est ca­pable de conce­voir des sons réa­listes mais dis­crè­te­ment tron­qués. C’est un fin tra­vail de créa­tion, qui est très pré­sent sans être pe­sant. »

«  C’est en 2002 avec Les Ra­mo­neurs cé­ré­braux de Pa­trick Bou­chard que j’ai connu le tra­vail d’Olivier Cal­vert. Œu­vrant en ci­né­ma d'animation de­puis dé­jà plu­sieurs an­nées, je fus en­chan­tée par le tra­vail d’évocation so­nore que son mon­tage ajou­tait au sombre ré­cit. Je ne cesse de­puis de suivre son tra­vail, que ce soit en ani­ma­tion, do­cu­men­taire ou fic­tion. Oli­vier fait par­tie de ces ar­ti­sans qui per­pé­tuent le tra­vail so­nore bien fait, la trame cou­sue main que bien des ci­néastes étran­gers nous en­vient. »
