The film, an NFB production, won the Best animated short film award at the 98th Oscars. It’s Olivier Calvert’s second collaboration to win an Oscar. The first one was with Arrival, directed by Denis Villeneuve, in 2017, when they won the Oscar for Best Sound Editing.
The Girl Who Cried Pearls is an Academy Award Nominee!
This makes it the sixth film with my sound work that gets nominated! A sound collaboration with foley artist Lise Wedlock, sound engineer Geoffrey Mitchell and re-recording mixer Isabelle Lussier.
