Sound Designer
The film, an NFB production, won the Best animated short film award at the 98th Oscars. It’s Olivier Calvert’s second collaboration to win an Oscar. The first one was with Arrival, directed by Denis Villeneuve, in 2017, when they won the Oscar for Best Sound Editing.
This makes it the sixth film with my sound work that gets nominated! A sound collaboration with foley artist Lise Wedlock, sound engineer Geoffrey Mitchell and re-recording mixer Isabelle Lussier.
The Award is shared with Stephen De Oliveira and Hans Laitres, production sound mixer and sound re-recorder of the film! Kudos to my team Natalie Fleurant, Nicolas Gagnon, Jo Caron, Francis Dugas et Francis Gauthier. A special thought for my friend Frédéric Cloutier, the ambiences editor of the film who passed away this year.
